Comcast charges $67.95/mo for internet only

After moving to a new city I found myself internet-less. I had to get some ISP goodness from somewhere. Comcast seems to be everywhere. I received a flyer in the mail saying that I could have a special introductory rate of $19.95/mo for 6 months of internet service. Sounded pretty good to me.

I called to sign up, spent over an hour on hold, and realized I did not read the fine print after the representative told me that rate was reserved for customers that have either their phone or TV service. 'How much is internet service by itself?' I asked. She told me $67.95 each month. What a waste of money. I don't need a landline and I don't have a TV.

After checking around, I found that Earthlink is in my area. I called and they offered me $29.95 for the first 3 months and 49.95 afterwards. They piggyback on Comcast's lines and even sent out a Comcast technician to install the service.
